2012 Officers
ODHA Officers
President
Deborah Tennyson is a member of the Columbus Component. She began her career in Greenville, South Carolina where she graduated from Greenville Technical College. Deborah has practiced dental hygiene in Virginia and Tennessee prior to moving to Ohio in 2000 and retains her license in each of these states. On a state level she has served as President Elect, Vice President, Trustee, Annual Session Planning Council Chair, ADHA Delegate and ADHA Alternate Delegate. She has also served on Government Relations, Administrative Planning, Finance Committee and O-HY-PAC. On a component level she has served as Delegate, Treasurer, President Elect and President. Deborah is also a member of The Academy of Dental Hygiene Studies. In 2010 Deborah received the Margie A. Pierce Aspiring Professional Award. In 2011 she was selected to attend ADHA Unleashing Your Potential in Chicago. She currently works in a periodontal practice in Worthington.
President Elect
Beth Tronolone, BSDH, MOL, is a 1980 graduate of Marquette University. She earned a Masters in Organizational Leadership from Lourdes University in 2007. Beth is currently the Chair of the Dental Hygiene Program at Owens Community College, having served as a faculty member for 11 years. She began her career in Indianapolis, Indiana, employed in private practice and assisting in the Proctor & Gamble tartar control toothpaste studies. She moved to the Toledo area in 1984, where she lives today. In addition to her employment as an educator, Beth has 18 years of experience in family and periodontal practices.

As a member of the Toledo Component, Beth has served as delegate, vice-president, president, newsletter editor and the CE committee co-chair. As an ODHA member, she has assisted the Government Relations Committee and helped edit the Dental Hygiene Survey related to Access to Care. Beth is a member of the Academy of Dental Hygiene Studies.

In 2011, Beth received the Margie A. Pierce Aspiring Professional Award. This award is very special to Beth as Margie was a former Toledo Component President and mentor.

Beth has organized Give Kids A Smile at Owens for the past 6 years, providing care for over 100 children each year. She also organized an Oral Cancer Screening and a Homeless Prophy Day during the fall of 2011.
Immediate Past President
LINDA HEWETSON graduated from Lima Technical College in Lima, Ohio in June 1982 with an Associate Degree in the Applied Science of Dental Hygiene. She currently practices dental hygiene fulltime in Lancaster, Ohio and participates in managing the dental hygiene department of that practice. She has been actively involved with the Ohio Dental Hygienists’ Association since 1997 holding several positions beginning with Trustee of the Hocking Valley Dental Hygienists' Association. She has also chaired the ODHA dental hygiene practice council, government relations committee and member services council. She has been a member of O-HY-PAC, a delegate to the American Dental Hygienists' Association and previously served as president of ODHA in 2003-2004. She has taken local anesthesia training from Stanley Malamed, DDS at Lorain Community College in 2007 and since passing her NERB has enjoyed utilizing this added skill in her daily practice. She plans to pursue expanded function training next year.
Vice President
Connie Hamm is a 2000 graduate of the Ohio State University with a BS majoring in psychology. She continued to earn her BSDH from Ohio State in 2003. Connie has been active in Columbus component serving as President, Vice President, Secretary, Newsletter Editor, Delegate to ODHA and Trustee. She actively participated in ODHA as a Student Council member for several years before accepting the Table Clinic Chair appointment in 2009. Connie is a former member of the Administrative Planning Committee, Head Start Dental Home Initiative Committee and a current member of the Special Committee for Access to Care. She is also a member of the Academy of Dental Hygiene Studies. In 2010, Connie received ODHA’s Outstanding Effort Award. She enjoys working with children and currently practices in a pediatric clinic in Columbus, Ohio.
Secretary
SUZY SAVANICK graduated from Youngstown State University in 1991 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science and Technology. She has served ODHA in several leadership positions including, President 2007-2008, Secretary (2 terms), Odontia Editor, ADHA Delegate and Alternate Delegate. In 2009, Suzy also accepted appointment as Student Council Chair, and continues to serve in this capacity. She is a member of the Academy of Dental Hygiene Studies and a current O-HY-PAC Director. In 2004, Suzy received the ODHA Outstanding Effort Award and in 2011 was awarded ODHA's Outstanding Service Award. Suzy is a member of the Tri-County Component and has served as Tri-County Trustee, Delegate, Vice President and currently, Treasurer. Suzy currently provides temporary dental hygiene services for area dentists.
Treasurer
RACHEL HENRY RDH, MS, graduated from The Ohio State University with her BSDH in 2005. She completed her Master's degree from Ohio State in Allied Medical Education in 2007. She spent four years in general private practice in central Ohio before taking a full time position as Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University in 2009. Rachel has served the Columbus component as President, Vice President, and CE Chair. She was elected to serve as ODHA Secretary and ADHA Alternate Delegate during 2010. Rachel formerly served on ODHA's Member Services Committee. In 2009 Rachel was awarded the ADHA Esther Wilkins Hu-Friedy Future Leader Award. She enjoys working with students and is the co-advisor for the Student Chapter of ADHA at The Ohio State University.
Speaker of the House
JOYCE BEATHARD-LIND is a 1979 graduate of Sinclair Community College with an associate degree in Applied Science. In 2004, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Business from Ohio Dominican University. Joyce has been a member of ODHA for thirty years, serving the Mad River Valley Component as Trustee for more than half of these years. At ODHA’s state level, she has served as Bylaws Committee Chair since 1990. In addition, she has served on the Finance Committee, Annual Session Planning Committee, as O-HY-PAC Director and ODHA Table Clinic Judge. Joyce has worked in every phase of dentistry, but is most proud of her last fourteen years at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Dental Clinic, where she has treated children with behavioral, medical, and physical challenges. Joyce also shares her time, annually, with Teddy Bear Zoofari, Special Olympics Special Smiles, and Gahanna’s Health Fair. Joyce lives with her husband, James, and has two daughters.
