July 17, 2008 Board Meeting Minutes
Becky Weaver, Vice President/CE committee
The CE Committee has been very busy working and has 2 CE’s planned already!  Way to go CE Committee!!!!
Becky discussed upcoming CE dates are already posted on the website.
Becky will be checking on a location to hold the Holiday Social.  This is a fundraiser for the Student ADHA members.  The tentative date is Wednesday, November 19th at 5:30 p.m.  Watch for more information and a registration form on-line.  There will be a silent auction, so please bring 1 item valued between $10-$20.
TDHA now has a universal email address:  tdhasmiles@gmail.com.  All board members will been given the password.  This is a great way for board members to keep track of incoming messages, to keep in touch with each other,  and to send out mass emails to all TDHA members.  Thanks to Debbie Evers for this suggestion and implementation.
We will now be posting minutes of each meeting on our website to keep members up to date on TDHA business.  (especially for those for could not make the meeting)

Beth Tronolone, CE Chairperson
Debbie Evers and Beth Tronolone are working on obtaining all TDHA members’ email addresses. They will then be able to send members information on upcoming CE courses etc.
We are very excited about the CE/Alumni Day on Saturday October 4.  We are hoping for a great turnout.  Beth has challenged everyone to contact 4 people from your “dental hygiene class” and recruit them to come to the CE.  There will be a prize for the dental hygiene class who has the most attendants to the CE.  Beth is also asking the board member to collect items/gift card/ etc.  to raffle off at the CE course.

This course will be presented by Owens Community College Radiology Instructor

1. Radiographic technique
2. Radiographic positioning
3. Correcting errors
4. Enhancing radiographic diagnostic quality  
5. Techniques for both adult and pediatric patients

Today’s dental sessions require an exhaustive knowledge of products, instruments and equipment.  Our profession has changed and grown to a new level which offers us continuous challenges to recognize the new advances in technology and their use in dental hygiene.

• Recognize improvements on products utilized by dental professionals
• Select materials and products for dental hygiene therapy
• Discuss diagnosis assistance with employers and rationale for
changes    in assessment forms and diagnostic tools
• Select options in appropriate delivery of various therapeutics and much more!
